Instructions for authors

Submissions should be sent by e-mail to editors@j-etr.org.

Manuscripts should be submitted in Microsoft Word format, using Times New Roman 12 pt., single spaced.

Manuscripts should not contain information identifying the author(s), to ensure blind peer review.

Articles should include an abstract up to 150 words, and a list of up to 6 keywords.

At first submission, references can be in any style or format as long as it is consistent. If your manuscript is accepted for publication, you will be asked to apply the Chicago Author-Date (in text citation) Style.

The word limit for the main text of articles is 4,500 – 6,000 words, that of book reviews 500 – 2,000 words.

Editorial process

On receiving submissions, manuscripts are first checked by one of our editors, assessing whether they suit the journal’s scope, meet the basic academic criteria, and should be passed on for peer review. This may take one to three weeks. Submissions that pass this first check are subsequently subjected to double-blind peer review by two or more experts in the relevant field(s). This usually takes two to three months. In case our external reviewers disagree substantially, the editorial board will request further referee reports or arbitrate using its own expertise. Finally the authors are formally informed about the (conditional) acception or rejection of their submission, and receive the full review reports addressing the originality, argumentation, presentation, and referencing of the manuscript.

Fees

We do not charge any processing or publication fees.
